Born in Rome in 1960, Daniele Luchetti began his career as an assistant director and actor in films by Nanni Moretti. Luchetti’s directorial debut It's Happening Tomorrow (1988) received a special mention at the 1988 Cannes Film Festival. His recent films include La nostra vita (2010), winner of three David di Donatello awards and The Ties (IFF21) which opened the 2021 Italian Film Festival.
